Talking about the Lord

answered prayer

In reading Jesus Followers by Anne Graham Lotz, the statement was made about R.V.Brown:

“No matter where or who he is with, he talks about the Lord with his every breath.”

It caused me to pause; what would happen, if that became true of me?

I am so hesitant to bring God into the conversation unless I feel confident in the audience around me.  Today’s society has trained us to not offend or speak of anything that makes others uncomfortable.

I find myself censoring myself even with those I am most comfortable with, but I am retraining myself with God’s help.

I find myself abandoning my emotional cowardice and sharing my heart, not counting the cost. The paralyzing fear of speaking up and out about my amazing God and the story He is writing in my life is receding. The conversation is being well received by most.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for walking, talking, and guiding me.

Let me learn with every breath talk of you. Help me to tell of your goodness, grace, love, and mercy. Let me tell of your faithfulness in valleys, on the mountains, and during the storms.

Please forgive me when I fell.

Give me the courage in Jesus Christ’s powerful name.

Amen

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
