A Silent Night

A Silent Night Holy Night

A Silent Night

Christmas is the best time of year for a lot of people but why? What makes Christmas so special? Is it the gifts? The music? The lights? The food? The time we spend with our family and our friends? Everyone has a different answer.

What makes Christmas so special for you? Now be honest! How many of you honestly answered that Jesus is your favorite part of your Christmas? Many times so many of us (including me!) get so caught up in the rush of Christmas. We focus on making sure everyone on our list gets a great Christmas present and we worry about how we are going to pay for it. We have to get our Christmas tree and lights up too. I know many of us read the Christmas story and talk about how Jesus is the reason for the season, but how many times have we sat down and really thanked God for sending His only Son to save us all.

This Christmas take a break from all the Christmas shopping, cooking, and decorating, and have fellowship with God. We always say that Jesus is the reason for the season but how many times do we actually live it. Let God know that you put Him first. God sacrificed His Son for us. The least any of us can do is spend one-on-one time with Him. Jesus is more important than the season. Show someone that you care and live like you believe that Jesus is the reason for the season. Showing the love of God to someone is a greater gift than you could ever buy them. Take a minute and have a silent night free from the rush of Christmas.

Dear Lord,

Thank You so much for sending your Son to forgive me of my sin. You alone are worthy to be praised and to be praised highly. Lord, forgive me of all my sin and unrighteousness. Help me to remember and to live like You are the reason for the Christmas season. Help me to be a light to those around me. Help others see you through me. Lord, I am Yours. Use me to impact others for You Lord. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
