Fear Not Your Future is Secure (#56)

Daniel 10:19  “And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong.  And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak, for thou hast strengthened me.”  (KJV)

An angel came to visit old Daniel with a message.  The angel came because he was sent by the LORD!  The message:  Daniel, The Creator of the Universe, the one true God, the Holy One of Israel, the Alpha and Omega LOVES Y-O-U!  Daniel, you have no reason, no not one single reason to fear even though life is so difficult.  In fact, be at peace, be strong.

Imagine this scene and take Daniel out of the picture and put yourself in the frozen frame.  What is your reaction?  An angelic being is standing before you and telling you not to be afraid, to be strong because God Loves YOU!

Why would He love me?  What can I do for Him?

Are you breathing?  Face down in the dirt?  Or like Daniel, do you stand up invigorated by this message?

The angel’s message is a shot of spiritual B12.   You. Are. Loved.   Is this message not what every fearful child of God needs to hear?  Wants to hear?  Longs to hear?   You are GREATLY LOVED!

Daniel needed to hear these words for the vision he had just seen left him weak, frightened, and unable to speak.  Daniel the one who saw history from the Babylonian empire to the Apocalypse: God’s calendar of events.

Our lives leave us feeling the same way:  weak, frightened, unable to speak.  Life is so hard.  In the hard times the Lord sends messengers (in a multitude of ways) to encourage us.  Scripture teaches us in Hebrews 13:8  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever, and in Acts 2:17  In the last days, God says, “I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”  (Land of Being Alive-01/08/16 by Karly, Guardian Angels by Tricia)

We are greatly loved!  Jesus continues to say, “O man, you are greatly loved–I did all this for you!!!”  Despite how fearful the future may appear, we can stand in the strength of the LORD.

About Yvonne Jones

I am at heart, a LIFEguard: "big" sister, mama, grandmother, aunt, friend, swimming coach, lifeguard trainer, and registered nurse. I am in the business of alleviating fear through education and lots of hand holding. As a swimming instructor, I have taught people of all ages to overcome fear of the water and I marvel as fear gives way to fearlessness, as panic turns to pure joy, as tears dissolve into giggles of glee, and pennies retrieved from the bottom of the abyss become trophies. As a nurse, I have been privileged to walk up to Heaven's gate as patients and family are welcomed home, witnessed the miracle of birth, helped mend broken hearts, and cared for the elderly as they wait. Scriptures number one admonition is "fear not." Question is HOW??? The Word becomes our swimming instructor and can help us learn to "tread water til Jesus comes." Something my students often thought I was going to make them do! So welcome to my pool! Jump in the cool water. Let it refresh your soul and feel the unseen hands of the Master Lifeguard lift you up and out of the deep water. Who knows, you just might even walk on water!
