Power

Power

Psalms 28:7 – The LORD [is] my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Strength, protection, assistance, and security. All these are found in the image of God in man. As a good Father, He protects His creation by His hand and provides help and security to man. He endowed man with this as seen in earthly mothers and fathers. Physical and emotional strength, assistance through helping hands and hearts and minds, provision of safety and security of children until they are able to stand on their own. Man has been given power and this can be used for good or evil. The choice is ours and the consequences can affect generations. (Numbers 14:18) God’s power is displayed in a variety of ways in Scripture but is best seen in His relationship to His Son even during the darkest hours of Christ’s life and death. God uses His power in creation and in our lives for GOOD!

Today, in your positions of authority over others, use your power (Hebrew azaz for be strong) for good. Display the love of God to a watching world in the way you wield your power. Be a living reflection of the image of God’s power in man. It is power that raised the dead and brought forth new life. Help raise another up from the depth of despair, protect the weak, use your strength to shoulder another’s burden.
