One Light Makes a Difference

“I am the Light of the World…” – John 8:12
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of Life.” ~ John 8:12

One Light Makes The Difference

Have you stood in total darkness lately and seen the pitch blackness of it ?  The other night  we lost all overhead lights, and over half of the electrical plugs were not working. I stood there totally confounded as what to do next.  While reaching out into the darkness to avoid bumping into anything, I slowly moved throughout the house turning the light switches on to no avail. Still, total darkness!!!

After waking up my sweetheart, he and I stepped outside for him to check out the power box.  The contrast between inside my house and outside was amazing. The moon was about two-thirds full and filled the nighttime sky with its glowing brilliance. We have always enjoyed a moon lit night, but especially that night. That one light made all the difference!

Let there be light

I am reminded of when God created the heavens and the earth.  His word said:

“The earth was without form and void;  darkness was upon the face of the deep.  The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.  God said,  ‘Let there be light; and there was light.’ God saw the light that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.  And God called the light Day,  and the darkness he called Night.“ (Genesis 1:2-5a)

Jesus is The Light

A few years ago, a friend and I were praying together. God began to show me the form of a man standing in total darkness. All I knew was that he was lost in that world of blackness. As the Lord led me to pray; a huge beam of light brightened up that darkness, and moved till it was overhead shining down upon that precious lost soul.

“For God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:6)

Light of the World

In Isaiah 42:6-7, &16, the Father placed a “call“ upon Jesus’ life, making Him a Light” to the world. As a result, Jesus was to open the blind eyes, he was to release the prisoners, and to break all chains that held them captive in the dungeons of those prisons. Then, he was to lead them in a new way, down a new path they had never known.

Consequently,  Jesus was to totally turn the darkness into His Light” around them; and to make all crooked things straight in their lives.  There is a promise that comes with all of the above things that – He would do it and never forsake them.

Light of Jesus

So then, I have watched as the Light of Jesus“ pierced the darkness in this dear ones’ heart and soul. Similarly, I have watched the exchange of darkness for “Light,”  of blindness for “Eyes that can See,” and of prisons and its chains for “Freedom in Jesus, the Light.”

Finally, the Light of Jesus“ made all the difference in his life. If you have never accepted Jesus, God’s only begotten Son to be your Savior and Lord, won’t you do it now?   Let His Light“ transform every area of your life. Let Him swing open your prison doors and set you  “FREE.”

It is just this simple, If you will confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with the heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with the mouth that you confess and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10)
