“ Experiencing the Resurrection and the Life “

“ Experiencing the Resurrection and the Life “

As we look to celebrate Easter this year, my thoughts go back to several weeks ago. One day close to lunch, I received a call from one of my granddaughters. She had a dear friend who had been going through a really tough time. For several days the Lord had been showing her things in her life that were displeasing to Him. As He would reveal the wrongs in her heart, she would confess to the Lord her sins and repent from them.

You see, the Lord had wrapped His cords of love around her heart and He was slowly drawing her into “ His loving arms “ and to “ saving faith “. He longed to be her Father and she, His daughter. My granddaughter had shared all she could with her, but kept sensing she needed to bring her to Memaw’s. After encouraging my granddaughter to bring her over after she got off work, I began to pray for the Lord’s direction.

This excited my heart because for many months I had been praying for this “Dear One”. Hearing she was feeling the need to ask Jesus into her heart, I realized that our Dear Lord had brought her right to the door of salvation: “Jesus “. They came over and we talked together. We shared God’s love message to her:

“God loved her so much He gave His only Son, Jesus, to become her Saviour. If she would believe and trust in Him, He would give her a new and eternal life with Him. “ (John 3:15-17)

“ And if she would by faith believe in Him as Lord and confess all her sin, she would be saved. For with the heart man believes unto salvation; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation “. (Rom. 10:8-10)

This sweet soul cried out to Jesus to have mercy, confessing her sins and believing in Him as her Saviour, who would forgive all her sins. In a moment, the transformation of a weary child lost in sin – to a child born anew in Jesus appeared in this young girl. A joy, radiance & peace poured out of her through her tears of thankfulness. She kept saying “I feel like a heavy load just lifted off of me!!!”

“Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life, he ( or she ) that believes on Me, though they were dead ( in trespasses and sin ) yet, shall they live “.(John 11:25)

Her life will never be the same, the same power that raised up Jesus from the dead now lives in her transformed life. I know Easter will not be the same for this “ Dear One ” who experienced the “ Resurrection and the Life of Jesus “ .
