Broken to Mended

Broken to Mended

The Lord is near to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 (ESV)

The past few years I have found myself talking to God with a broken and crushed spirit. Experiencing setbacks, heartbreak, let downs, fear, and disappointments has drained me. But what I have found with each and every conversation with God is that he keeps handling all of my family’s setbacks, heartbreaks, let downs, fears, and disappointments.

Psalm 34:18 says, “ The Lord is near to those who are discouraged; he saves those who have lost all hope.”

“The reason brokenness is beautiful is because of how God can use it in our lives. It is something that can draw us near to Him. Brokenness can make room for a contrite heart and repentance to bring us back into fellowship with Him when we have miserably failed. It is not lovely in and of itself, it is not the end of the journey, it is not a cute hashtag to put on a picture of a dirty house. It’s not a word to use when you want to feel “authentic”. Standing alone, it is messy and sad. No, the beauty in spiritual brokenness is found in where it brings us.” http://e360bible.org/blog/the-meaning-of-brokenness-truth-about-being-broken-in-the-sight-of-god/

God is going to prepare my family for whatever comes next. God can and will take your brokenness, mend it, and put the pieces back together creating something so beautiful. I can 100% testify to that!

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 (NIV)

About Susan Browder

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”  Hebrews 11:1 I grew up in a small town in Alabama called Boligee. I am a wife and a mom to two sons, Nick who is 24 and married to his sweet wife, Mallory, and Jacob who is 18.  My husband, Nicky, is a person of who I am so proud. Our lives changed forever on September 6, 2014 about 7:00 pm. Our son, Jacob, had an accident that would deeper our faith in God and challenge us in ways we never dreamed. My prayer is that our story will encourage others in their struggles with life altering experiences. My writing will be our testimonies but more than that it is about how we have a loving, caring God that carries us through the most difficult times of our lives.

What an answer to our prayers! We have said from the beginning, “If JUST one person is touched by the Holy Spirit or just one comes to know the Lord as Savior all the time, energy, effort and stress would be worth it. This is our ministry to the world. We are so thankful for your candor! Blessings on your ministry Wade. I love you like my own! Yvonne

This message helps others understand that trials are not necessarily punishment, but God has a way of using them for our spiritual growth and His glory. You and your family are proud of that! Bless each of you!

Wow! This was really good! As I was reading psalms 34:18 god is near to the broken hearted! I starting thinking about my brokenness and I read the scripture and said God I thank you you are near to the broken hearted!! I said three or four times because I knew that giving thanks because he is near the broken hearted is the opposite of being broken hearted, you can not be broken hearted if you give thanks for him making you whole! Anyway, the fourth time I said thank you Jesus that you are Near the broken hearted his healing presence just fell in my lap like a ton of bricks, it was like all of heaven came down in just a moments notice! The atmosphere completely shifted and there was an overwhelming sense of the peace of God! I prophesied that your writing would heal the sick and now I believe it even more so! Keep doing what you are doing and I am certain that lives will be changed, healed, delevered! Jesus says my words are spirit and life and the reason I felt that healing peace come over my body was because you released the power of God when you wrote that blog! Thank you for being faithful and expect to get testimonies of healings through your writing! Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever! You keep writing and seeking him and he will keep healing and imparting his power into the lives of your readers! Be blessed! Wade’s ô
