Behold I make all things new

Revelation 21:5  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.  (KJV)

We are well into 2017.    One thing is certain–CHANGE will be involved.

Israel is 70 years old as a nation.  (May 14, 1948)  The United States will inaugurate a new president but the government of this nation rests on the shoulders of each citizen.  Weather will occur.  There will be births and deaths.  Moments will take our breath away and moments will cause us to hold our collective breath.  Some days will be filled with promise others filled with pain.

Jesus alone is able to say I will take all this and much more and turn tragedy into triumph, pain into peace, ashes into beauty. (Isaiah 61:3)   He will make ALL things new.  He is in the redeeming, reclaiming, and resurrecting business.

As I have looked back over the posts and statistics for the past year, thousands if not millions of words were written from our hearts.  Words we believe God Himself placed there for the sole purpose of encouraging His Bride and for laying stones to pave a path to Him. (Romans 15:4)  We are simply pinkie toes of this body He calls the church desiring to be obedient in all we believe He is asking us to do. (Romans 12:4, 12)  For us, what He is asking us to do is WRITE.

Blogs are shared by likes and shares on Facebook, found by taglines on search engines, searched out on Pinterest, seen on Twitter, or by word of mouth.  Our numbers are down this year.  We would be lying if we said we don’t care.  Numbers represent people.  HOWEVER, we desire to serve an “audience of one” as the saying goes and we shall write until we are told to stop. (Matthew 16:1-18)   Our sisterhood has encountered some changes.  I am so thankful for the initial support and continued prayer support of those who needed to serve in other areas.  Jesus NEVER stayed in one place!  To plant seeds we have to move around.  All this being said, may we kindly ask you to tell others about this site, share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.  Not everyone has a Bible but nearly all have a cell phone and internet connection!

Audience of One by Big Daddy Weave

I will share with you our faithful readers that in late October, Freda and I attended a WordPress workshop and discovered through peer review our wee site is up and running with “all the right stuff!”  We have Bonnie to thank for this!  She alone took all the ideas and made them work and got us off the deck and into the pool treading water slow and easy.  In the coming year we hope to dig into the Word on topics as we discern the Holy Spirit leading, make changes in format to make us a little more user friendly, and add to our sisterhood.

I just recently connected with one of my earliest spiritual mentors.  As a teen she lead a group of girls through the book of John so we might learn who Jesus is and come to know Him better.  She was gorgeous then and still is!!! Inside and out!   I want to be just like her when I grow up!  This is the sign of a mentor extraordinaire!  (II Timothy 2:2)

All things new, faithful and true:  May we be clay in the hands of the master potter.  May we be vessels worthy of use.  (Jeremiah 18)  So.  We.  Write.  Will you take time to tread with us?  The water is as warm as a hot spring.  (Matthew 11:28)  Would you like to write with us?  We are not an exclusive club but a band of seeking sisters.  Even if you would like to write just once, take it to the Lord in prayer and then share your story of what the Lord has done.  This is how we encourage others, learn from each other, and grow in the Lord as a body.  Yes, we will edit and if you are like yours truly some of your wording may get “edited out” for the integrity of our witness.  We have had guest bloggers before and the youngest was twelve!  Our young sisters have a testimony too.  Who knows, maybe you will find your calling at long last.

Treading in His Name,

About Yvonne Jones

I am at heart, a LIFEguard: "big" sister, mama, grandmother, aunt, friend, swimming coach, lifeguard trainer, and registered nurse. I am in the business of alleviating fear through education and lots of hand holding. As a swimming instructor, I have taught people of all ages to overcome fear of the water and I marvel as fear gives way to fearlessness, as panic turns to pure joy, as tears dissolve into giggles of glee, and pennies retrieved from the bottom of the abyss become trophies. As a nurse, I have been privileged to walk up to Heaven's gate as patients and family are welcomed home, witnessed the miracle of birth, helped mend broken hearts, and cared for the elderly as they wait. Scriptures number one admonition is "fear not." Question is HOW??? The Word becomes our swimming instructor and can help us learn to "tread water til Jesus comes." Something my students often thought I was going to make them do! So welcome to my pool! Jump in the cool water. Let it refresh your soul and feel the unseen hands of the Master Lifeguard lift you up and out of the deep water. Who knows, you just might even walk on water!
