Further Discussion and Scriptures
“Start calling yourself healed, happy, whole, blessed, and prosperous.  Stop talking to God about how big your mountains are, and start talking to your mountains about how big your God is!”
-Joel Osteen

We must get to the place where we do not see our problems as from people (flesh and blood).  Instead, we must see them as tools in the hand of the enemy (rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil) and pray for them from a place of love.  We know we will have trouble!  (John 16:33)

Types of prayers

Dedication
Commitment
Petition
Consecration
To Change circumstances
Praise
Thanksgiving
Prayer of faith
United prayer
Prayer of agreement
Prayer for tongues
Prayers of intercession

Suggestions:

To help learn the Word of God, to use in prayer, use concordances to begin to do word study (love, peace, healing, forgiveness, patience, etc) to find scriptures to use in praying Word back to God to achieve “reverse thunder” in your situation.

Use scripturekeys.com as a reference for looking up scriptures by topic.

A reminder that we will need the power of the name of Jesus in the days ahead.

Write as you pray and write down all the Holy Spirit impresses upon you.  If you write it down, then you have a record of God’s Word TO YOU!!!!  This is an example of a “word” given during prayer for this study written down during the time of prayer:

Step up to yet another place on this journey of faith.

For you see My children, I will NEVER leave you!  I will never forsake you!  I will never leave  you begging for bread.

You are my children and my desire is to teach you to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might.

My love for you is never-ending.

Some of you are testing the water.  I tell you to dive in.  I am here to catch you .  Let my love wash over you as you begin to trust my Word and the love I have for you.

Great be your peace.

Great be your confidence!  Confidence in ME!

Love me,

Trust me,

Learn from me.

I hold your future in my hand.  The time is coming and is now here, that you may well have to chose which way you will go.  Will you go right, will you go left, will you go straight?

Let Me tell you which way to go—-go straight into my outstretched arms of love!

The Holy Spirit speaks to our hearts! And what He speaks is God’s Word.  You can find everyone of these statements in His Word!!!!  Listen to the “still small voice” and be stunned at how much He loves YOU!!
Scriptures for your prayer arsenal:

Jeremiah 1:12  “Then the LORD said to me, ‘You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.'”  (NAS)

Isaiah 55:11  “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”  (KJV)

Isaiah 59:21  “As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and forever.”  (KJV)

John 14:13  “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”  (KJV)

John 15:4-7  Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.  5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.  7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

II Timothy 1:12  “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.’

II Timothy 2:7  “Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.”

I Peter 5:7  “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Philippians 4:6  “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

About Yvonne Jones

I am at heart, a LIFEguard: "big" sister, mama, grandmother, aunt, friend, swimming coach, lifeguard trainer, and registered nurse. I am in the business of alleviating fear through education and lots of hand holding. As a swimming instructor, I have taught people of all ages to overcome fear of the water and I marvel as fear gives way to fearlessness, as panic turns to pure joy, as tears dissolve into giggles of glee, and pennies retrieved from the bottom of the abyss become trophies. As a nurse, I have been privileged to walk up to Heaven's gate as patients and family are welcomed home, witnessed the miracle of birth, helped mend broken hearts, and cared for the elderly as they wait. Scriptures number one admonition is "fear not." Question is HOW??? The Word becomes our swimming instructor and can help us learn to "tread water til Jesus comes." Something my students often thought I was going to make them do! So welcome to my pool! Jump in the cool water. Let it refresh your soul and feel the unseen hands of the Master Lifeguard lift you up and out of the deep water. Who knows, you just might even walk on water!

We would love to hear from you
