Did you ever start to play a game without knowing the rules? Frustrating isn’t it? Maybe you had cousins or older friends who would change the rules of a game to make it more in their favor? It’s hard to play when the rules keeping changes.
Unfortunately, that is the what we find our culture and society doing now with God’s Word. If someone wants to interpret a scripture to meet their circumstances they have no problem changing the rules.

Question #2. (from The Shorter Catechism)
What rule has God given to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy Him?
My question: Where’s the plan. I need guidelines! I need how to’s. How do I know if I am doing it right without guidelines?

Answer: The Word of God, namely the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments, is the only rule to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy Him.

2 Timothy 3:15-16 “And from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures,which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

Ephesians 2:20. “ having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.”

I John 1:3-4 “That which we have can seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with the Son,Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

Luke 16: 29,31. “Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them. But he said to him, If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one raised from the dead.”

Galatians 1:8-9. “ But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

God’s word is our guide for how He created us to live. It will give us comfort, instruction, correction and conviction when we get off on the wrong path.
In the time of the Judges it is recorded that “everyone did what was right I their own eyes.” We have become a nation and a people who are headed on the same path.

Judgment came to the nation of Israel for not following His Words. Judgement will come and may be here already for the manner in which we are handling God’s Word.
He has given us the guide.
We can be game changers if we begin abiding in Him and following His voice?

We are made for fellowship. Even in the garden, God walked with His friends daily in the cool of the evening.
The beginning step on the game board of life is to bow and agree with God we have been living according to our rules and our desires. Move forward one step. The next square says “read the manual given by the manufacturer.” Then follow where the guidebook leads you.
Power and Love will be given to accomplish whatever you’re asked to do.
