Matthew 10:26 Fear Not the Maze

How are you at puzzles, optical illusions, hidden pictures, mazes?  I HATE THEM!  If you were to put me in one of those hedge mazes and leave me there alone, I would have a melt down then come up fighting mad, and IF I ever found my way out (which is highly unlikely) your life would be in danger!!!!  I don’t scuba dive in caves, I don’t explore caves, I don’t go into new places without a map with LANDMARKS.  Yep, directionally challenged.  I want a GUIDE!  I want a clear field of vision.  I want daylight.

Matthew 10:26  “Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid that shall not be shown.”  (KJV)

Life is full of experiences we do not understand.  Much is hidden from our view.  Much of what we see, hear, and experience is not real, true, or honest.  We live on planet Earth and this is satan’s domain (John 12:31).  He is the “father of lies” — this includes deceit, conceit, lies, false accusations, counterfeits, slander, libel, pointing fingers, cover-ups, put-downs, illusions, ponzi schemes, embezzlement, shaming and the list goes on. (John 8:44, II Corinthians 11:14)

God promises truth will triumph. (Proverbs 12:19)  In the preceding verses, Matthew, the former tax collector (known to be a thief), writes of all the disciples will face (they will be hated, imprisoned, condemned, executed) as Jesus sends them out to begin ministry.  Then, he writes Jesus’ words, “fear not,” because all that is covered will be revealed.  All that is hidden from view will be seen, and one day sooner or later, all will be put right!

This is a comfort.  Just remember, our stuff will be revealed as well!   One thought brings great satisfaction, and the other, ummmm, not so much.  This is why forgiveness is vital.  God the Father in Heaven sees it ALL!  Holds all accountable.  Thank you Jesus for your grace.

Jesus told His followers to go out and preach in His name and to be wise as serpents (the enemy is known as a serpent) and as harmless a dove.  We are to live this life with courage and kindness.

Did you see anything in the face?  (Matthew 13:15)  Open your eyes to truth.

About Yvonne Jones

I am at heart, a LIFEguard: "big" sister, mama, grandmother, aunt, friend, swimming coach, lifeguard trainer, and registered nurse. I am in the business of alleviating fear through education and lots of hand holding. As a swimming instructor, I have taught people of all ages to overcome fear of the water and I marvel as fear gives way to fearlessness, as panic turns to pure joy, as tears dissolve into giggles of glee, and pennies retrieved from the bottom of the abyss become trophies. As a nurse, I have been privileged to walk up to Heaven's gate as patients and family are welcomed home, witnessed the miracle of birth, helped mend broken hearts, and cared for the elderly as they wait. Scriptures number one admonition is "fear not." Question is HOW??? The Word becomes our swimming instructor and can help us learn to "tread water til Jesus comes." Something my students often thought I was going to make them do! So welcome to my pool! Jump in the cool water. Let it refresh your soul and feel the unseen hands of the Master Lifeguard lift you up and out of the deep water. Who knows, you just might even walk on water!

We would love to hear from you
