Haggai 2:5  “According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.”  (KJV)

Some days, God seems far away.  Silent.  Prayers go unanswered.  Ever been there?  

This scripture reminds us that God keeps His promises.  What He says, He will do.  I AM promises us He will be with us.  If the LORD is with us, who or what have we to fear?  

Why is it we Israelite forget?  Why are we freaked out?  What leads me into doubt?  If I had the answer for this, other than “the devil made me do it,” I would be able to answer all the questions of this spinning blue ball.

Franklin D. Roosevelt is quoted as saying, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”  

Charles Stanley wrote, “Our heavenly Father understands our disappointment, suffering, pain, fear, and doubt.  He is always (emphasis mine) there to encourage our hearts and help us understand that He’s sufficient for all our needs.  When I accepted this as an absolute truth in my life I found that my worrying stopped.”  He also says, “Basically, there are two paths you can walk:  faith or fear.  It is impossible to simultaneously trust God and not trust God.”

God is in a covenant with us.  This is an unbreakable promise.  Jesus sent His Holy Spirit:

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever–John 14:6

This is His promise.  I can TRUST.
