Philippians 4:8

5458284208_26aabe5665_zWHAT ARE YOU THINKING???

Did your Mom or Dad ever ask you that question?  Have you ever asked your child that question?

This is going to be my mantra for this month.  It has been said if you control your thinking, you can control your feelings and your actions.

“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”  Philippians 4:8 (NAS)

In today’s world, most people do not “dwell on these things.”  Truth is whatever you “feel” is right for your particular situation.  Where is the honor?   Right is defined by what is best for me. Purity is just about non-existent.  As we go through each phrase of this verse, you will begin to see why we are living in a world of fear, dread, confusion, and disorder.

At Jesus’ trial before his crucifixion, Pilate asked, “What is truth?”  John 18:39(NAS)  The dictionary defines truth as “that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality.”

Truth is… Jesus was a real man, Jesus is God, the second person of the trinity.

Truth is… Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

Truth is… Jesus came to set the sinner free.  That’s you and me!

Truth is…. Jesus loves you and me with an everlasting love.

Truth is… Jesus died so that you and I could one day live with him for all eternity.

Truth is… If you don’t know him in a real, everyday, personal relationship you are missing one of the greatest gifts ever given.

Truth is… Jesus sent his Holy Spirit to live, dwell in us that we might do great works for the kingdom.

Truth is… We all need Jesus!  He is my strength, my comfort and my redeemer.

This week think on these things.   Let Jesus set you free from the worries of this world.

Know this His Word is TRUTH!
